Renishaw

High precision technology for metrology and healthcare.

What we do:

Renishaw is a global engineering technology group creating high precision technology for metrology and healthcare.

Its teams design and develop systems to create complete high precision, control and reliability in manufacturing.

It is also a world leader in additive manufacturing, also known as metal 3D printing.  Renishaw designs and produces compact machines that ‘print' parts from metal powder.

From the manufacture of aircraft, cars, smartphones, electric vehicles batteries and solar panels to brain surgery and dentistry, there is barely an industry that does not in some way benefit from Renishaw’s innovations.

Spread across 67 key locations in 36 countries the company employs over 5,000 people worldwide of which 3,000 are in the UK. This is where we do much of the research and development and manufacturing is undertaken.

For People and Planet :

Renishaw’s stated mission is to always search for a better way. To create products, materials and therapies to define our world. To create products and services that will touch billions of lives, now and in the future.

That purpose is incredibly relevant in today's environment where the pace of change in technology is faster than ever. We all know that the future will be a world of scarce resources, needing high-performance, intelligent, personalised solutions that make the best use of these resources.

Renishaw expertise can help deliver this.

They are already playing a leading role in the transition towards a sustainable future in which manufacturing processes are increasingly efficient, automated and self-governing.

Why we do it:

Renishaw’s measurement systems help companies produce and inspect components with exceptional accuracy regardless of their complex shape.

Precision is crucial in modern manufacturing as it directly has an impact on a product's quality, efficiency, and safety.

From jet engines to mobile phones to medical equipment and other high tech products precise alignment ensures that parts fit together correctly and function smoothly. Even minor inaccuracies can lead to performance issues, malfunctions, or product failures.

Modern medical treatments can involve inserting tiny devices like stents into the body. If these devices aren't placed with pinpoint accuracy, they might not work properly, or they could cause damage to surrounding tissues, leading to complications.

Across the fields of industrial automation and motion systems Renishaw’s measurement and calibration systems allow builders to manufacture highly accurate and reliable products.
